We are joined by Marc Dierikx, a Senior Researcher at the Huygens Institute of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences to talk about his latest book; ‘Anthony Fokker: The Flying Dutchman Who Shaped American Aviation’.

Fokker with the first Baby Morane in 1914

Marc explains the complexities and ‘luck’ on researching the book as well as taking us through the life of Anthony Fokker, who you will find out is a very interesting character. His influence on the development of world aviation is without doubt, but it is his character and life story that made him a superstar of his day and an enigma to many who met and worked with him.
